Job Summary

Drives the mobile dental unit to local community shelters, schools, and other sites across South Florida.

Job Specific Duties

• Drives the mobile dental unit to local community shelters, schools, and other sites across South Florida.
• Checks all equipment for proper function and cleanliness. Notifies designated employee of any equipment not operating properly and needing repair.
• Provides for patient safety, greets parents, and assists patient to operatory checking with parent, reading armband to identify scheduled patient before beginning any procedure.
• Maintains cleanliness and working order of the interior of the vehicle and its equipment. 
• Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of mobile unit, transport equipment, and supplies. Performs routine maintenance and safety checks prior to and after each route. 
• Provides access for the patients and their families with friendly interaction and communication. Provides assistance or help to enter the Dental Mobile Unit.
• Places wrist bands on each patient and logs their arrival into the computer. 
• Maintains appropriate records and documentation for internal and external regulatory purposes. 

Minimum Job Requirements

• Valid Class B commercial (CDL) State of Florida driver's license
• DOT medical card required within 30 days in position

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Experience navigating with Google Maps.
• Able to operate truck in safe and professional manner on public highways and roads.
• Able to relate cooperatively and constructively with patients, families, and co-workers.
• Ability to interpret, adapt, and react calmly under stressful conditions.
